Personal Finance Workshop with
Tony Ghoston

Sponsored by COIN & Seed in the Ground, retired investment professional Tony Ghoston hosted a personal finance workshop with COIN and Hilton Head High School students.

Students learned about managing money, investing, wealth building, money management and investing, and motivates students on importance of gaining employment and investing in your financial future.

NFL: Jacksonville Jaguars Football

COIN students attended the Houston Texans vs. Jacksonville Jaguars football game on November 26th.  A special treat for the students for all their hard work!

Fish & Grits Festival

Saturday, October 7th at Lowcountry Celebration Park. Categories include Artists, Music, and Entertainment. This festival brings awareness to the rich Gullah Geechee culture and the connection to the African diaspora by sharing great musical talent and local cuisine. Check out the details here.

Business and Entrepreneurship with Carlton Dallas

Carlton Dallas spoke to COIN students at Hilton Head High School on business and entrepreneurship.  He shared with students his secret to success and how he got his start. 

Mr. Dallas is a North Carolina native with an impressive career in the petroleum industry and public speaking that spanned 34 years, 19 moves and more than 50 countries.  

Hilton Head Regional Healthcare

Joel C. Taylor is the Market Chief Executive Officer for Hilton Head Regional Healthcare. He previously held leadership positions at Citizens Baptist Medical Center in Talladega, Alabama, and White County Community Hospital in Sparta, Tennessee.

Joel spoke to a group of COIN students about his career and experiences and career opportunities in the healthcare industry.

MLK Hilton Head Celebration

The COIN drumline performs during the Hilton Head MLK celebration.

Crescendo Drumline Event

COIN students participate in percussion, instruction, and mentoring. Students work with the COIN team to engage in the arts and showcase their talent!

Lockheed Martin

A leader in aerospace, information security, and defense, Lockheed Martin has over 114,000 employees. Nick Mesenburg, Senior Manager, Field Sales Support, visited Hilton Head High School to provide information about career opportunities in the aerospace industry. COIN students learned about a variety of career paths ranging from cybersecurity to aerospace engineering, and much more.

RX Industries

Tom Rougeux, the President of RX Industries, a Hilton Head based contract manufacturing business, spoke to the Young Men’s Club about career opportunities around medical devices, aerospace, and defense.

COIN students were engaged in the opportunity to learn more about such exciting local opportunities!

The Boathouse

Kevin Swinney, a Master Technician and certified Yamaha Master Mechanic, spoke to COIN students about career opportunities in the boating industry.

Hilton Head Fire Department

The Hilton Head Fire Department spoke with COIN students about the opportunity to become a firefighter (middle).

They also visited Hilton Head Island Middle School to share more with students about working at the fire department, and answer questions (right).
